Hey Travelers,
For years I’ve been dying to take a trip across the country
in a desperate attempt to visit all 50 states before I turn 25. There are so
many different routes to take, that vary largely in terms of completion time. But
across all suggested journeys, there are consistently some must-see places that
land on every list.
Take a look at these road-trip staples, all in no particular
order. Here’s to hoping I’ll be able to get out and explore some of these
things in the next few years as I work to hit that largely obtainable yet
difficult goal of mine.
- Fallingwater, Washington D.C.
- Smallman Gallery, Pittsburgh, PA
- West Side Market, Chicago, IL
- Badlands National Park, South Dakota
- Hamilton Pool Preserve, Dripping Springs, Texas
- Portland Head Light, Maine
- Mount Rushmore
- Jackson Hole, Wyoming
- Grand Teton National Park
- Mount Rainier, Washington
- The Grand Canyon, Arizona
- Yellowstone National Park
- Lake Coeur d’Alene
- El Cosmico, Marfa, Texas
- Hanging Lake, Glenwood Springs
- Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada
- McDonald Observatory, Texas
- Monument Valley, Utah
- Lake Tahoe, California
- Big Sur, California
While this is a comprehensive list of some top spots, you
can probably extend this list by about fifty pages. Just by driving to and
through these states you are guaranteed to truly encounter some epic
sites on your epic adventure.
Until next time,
Annika
