As I have spent my fair share of time recently going through Customs and Border Projection, I thought it would be useful to provide a traveler-pro tip that is accessible and easy to obtain; GLOBAL ENTRY! With Global Entry, travelers are able to skip long airport lines that we often find ourselves standing in after long flights and busy travel days, eager to get home.
I’ve outlined the key steps to obtain Global Entry below and hope they are useful to you! I can guarantee having GE will make traveling much easier and the return experience significantly more enjoyable.
- Create a Trusted Traveler Programs(TTP) Account.
- Complete the full application and pay a $100 non-refundable fee.
- Upon conditional approval, schedule an interview at a Global Entry Center.
- Await approval; this can take up to 11 weeks.
- Membership is valid for 5 years.
A few hacks for the locals…
- You can complete your interview on your return from international travel, rather than just having to schedule an appointment at an airport just for the interview.
- Don’t forget your passport! You won't be able to complete your interview without it.
